Jehnny Beth (Rough Trade, London)

The performance that Jehnny Beth with her band gave at Rough Trade East in the celebration of their latest album "You Heartbreaker, You" was very tight and impressive, lasting roughly 45 minutes, but featuring all the elements of a strong and uncompromising show of the album's darker and abrasive sound.

Though it was short, the night was far from over after the show ended. The album signing process took even more time than the show itself as the artists gave away a lot of time to the people waiting to meet them. Jehnny and Johnny were signing autographs, taking pictures and chatting with the fans.

Such an event is definitely a great opportunity to promote the album: 45 minutes of powerful performance and the unexpected relaxed interaction with the fans. It was a long night for everyone who attended Rough Trade East that day.

The night was later voted one of the best live gigs at Rough Trade, and also released as a live vinyl of the night.
